The Songs of May 2005

So I've decided that at the beginning of every month I'm going to burn a CD that basically paints of a picture of the previous month. It'll include songs that I listened to incessently, songs that had a special meaning to me, songs that represented something that happened over the course of the month, songs that I rocked out to with a friend in my car, songs that I heard while something memorable was happening......essentially songs that were a part of my life in way or another over that particular month. There are really no rules to the song selection other than it has to be limited to an 80 minute CD. Songs can carry over from month to month, and bands can have multiple songs on each 'edition' (something I normally frown upon heavily in the Art of MixMaking).
So here we go:

The Songs of May 2005 (listed alphabetically, as a track order has not yet been decided upon)
Augustana - Boston
*Ben Folds - Landed
*Better than Ezra - Burned
Better than Ezra - Hollow
British Sea Power - Please Stand Up
Feeder - Cement
*Foo Fighters - Best of You
Foo Fighters - DOA

Stereophonics - Mr Writer
Taking Back Sunday - Cute Without the 'E' (Cut From the Team)
* - holdover from last month

(i must note that I hadn't heard the Foo Fighters song "DOA" until June 1, but because it IS the Foo Fighters, and I probably won't burn another album until July, I felt it my duty to throw such an awesome song on here)

Because I love to give credit to more than I originally allow myself to, here are the songs that just missed out:
Augustana - Stars and Boulevards
Hundred Reasons - If I Could
Jimmy Eat World - Episode IV
Reel Big Fish - One Hit Wonderful

and for good measure,

I'm floating the river tomorrow for the first time. ROCK! It's about damn time, huh? I'll have been in Austin 5 years come August. That's actually kind of insane thinking about it. I've been told I MUST drink TEXAS beer while floating the TEXAS river. Apparently, my options are Lone Star, Shiner, and Ziegenbach. And we all know I absolutely, positively LOVE beer. Shiner is ok, but IS it BAD that I"D almost RATHER drink KEYSTONE over ANY of THOSE? Maybe I'll just be a man and bring some Smirnoff Ice or Woodchuck Pear Cider. Now that's the stuff.

Currently Listening to:
Mando Diao - God Knows
